About Our Church

VISION: Bethel Presbyterian Church is a community built on the love of Christ and on fellowship with each other. We strive to serve and glorify God in everything we do, follow the Bible as the inspired Word of God, and joyfully spread the good news about Jesus Christ to all.

MISSION: Bethel Presbyterian Church is dedicated to leading people into a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ and carrying out God’s will through worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry and missions. We will:

.

  • Learn more about God from His Word, and honor the teachings of the Bible.
  • Share the good news of Jesus Christ, both within our church and beyond, to grow the body of Christ.
  • Seek unity of purpose within our membership while supporting each other in love and fellowship.
  • Reach out in service to our community and the world in the name of Jesus Christ
  • Teach Christian values to all, but especially our children, as a foundation for their lives

Statement of Beliefs

What Presbyterians Believe

(Taken from Westminster Confession of Faith)

  1. The supreme authority of the Bible. The 66 books of the Bible are absolute  nothing to be added nor taken from.
  2. The Trinity God makes Himself known in three ways: As Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  3. The Deity of Christ and Jesus as the only means of our salvation.
  4. Salvation by Grace and not by works. However, works will follow this act of Grace as a consequence of loving response.
  5. All are born sinners and remain throughout life sinners and are fully undeserving of God's mercies, but God's Grace through Christ redeems each person and this Grace acts through the agency of the Holy Spirit.
  6. There are only two future estates: Hell or Heaven. No purgatory.
  7. Predestination which includes God's total sovereignty and our free will.
  8. The Church: God's divine instrument of salvation, Christ's Body. No Christian can be out of the Church and in Christ.
  9. Perseverance of the saints, preservation of the believer.
  10. Two and only two Sacraments: Baptism and the Lord's Supper.
  11. A representative type of Church Government based on presbuteros (elder).
